Thank you for letting us serve you. RU is not perfect by a long shot. We get so busy we often overlook things and can at times be less than communicative with procedures or plans, goals, strategies and motives. But yet you always love us in return. We are unworthy of your love. But we love you because you have so loved us! If there is anything I could do to make our ministry a better servant of your students, workers, director, pastor, or church, please let me know what it is. I will do my best to conform to it—Lord willing. Please speak out to me. I cannot afford to be uninformed of the problems in our battlefields. The weapons for our warfare could only be more useful if the field soldiers helped us design them too!
Thank you for supporting our ministries. Some churches have had to reduce our missionary support or temporarily eliminate it. Some chapters have chosen to close their programs because of the difficult nature of funding outreach in turbulent times. This is of course difficult for Ben and I as it directly affects personal income. Despite this fact, God has remained true and met our every need. But it does help us to remember how much we need you and your support more than ever and we praise God for it.
Thank you for promoting our great curriculum. Not only do product sales drive the finances for your chapter, it pales in comparison to the absolute overwhelming importance of its role in the development of your student. During the holidays, we all scale back on setting up and pushing these things but our chapters must speak up about it again almost exclusively when coming out of these breaks. Promote your
Strongholds, Journals, and Student Guide until everyone is fully equipped in your program. I have had multiple students fall away over the years. However, oftentimes the sight of their books in their backseat, magazine rack, or coffee table has been a constant reminder of what God once did “way back when.” You may say you’re not a sales person. That’s fine. Nor should you be. You’re just a “beggar telling another beggar where YOU found some really good bread!”
Thank you for supporting our Schools of Discipleship…our Homes for men and women. We are so thankful for your trust in our residential discipleship. Unequivocally the best, and for sure the cheapest, full-time residential treatment program in America. Oh, did I mention its success has recently been updated? Recent calls to our 385 grads across the US found 331 living for God in victory over the vice that brought them here. That’s an improvement from 82% to 86% success. To God be the glory! If you have a struggling student, please send them. Don’t let money stop you. With jobs hard to find, our liberty to lower our already lowest prices are limited, but if THEY will commit to raising their support after they arrive and your church or their family is willing to stand behind them in some small way, we will do our best to help them. Those coming now will be home in time for August. They will never be the same again—for this we can promise.
Thank you for your patience with us. We are having problems stocking some products we have stocked for years. (Namely our 6 challenge badges!) Many award and trinket vendors are going out of business and pricing on this first award is very sensitive, so we are battling and doing all we can to get past this problem. If you have any problems with your order, please be sure to make us aware with the pipeline to the founder. I look at EVERY ONE of them and they should be in EVERY ORDER. I truly am concerned that you do not have the tools you need to effectively minister properly to your students. It grieves my heart. Please know that providing these tools and meeting your needs is on the top of my priority list. Also, please pray that God guides us to the right “vendor” who can produce these badges at the right price so we will be able to offer them to you at the same price you have previously received.
Throughout this blog, I gave you some information, but I mostly just wanted to show my appreciation to you for your continued love, support, and care for us at RUI…but mostly for your love, support, and care for your students. Thank you for loving those whom the world has deemed unlovable. From the depths of our heart…we love you at RU!
