The Seven Motivational Gifts of the Holy Spirit

Prophecy: One who boldly proclaims truth.

Service: One who identifies undone tasks in God’s work, however menial, and uses available resources to get the jobs done.

Teaching: The ability to instruct others in the Bible in a logical, systematic way so as to communicate pertinent information for true understanding and growth.

Exhortation: One who comes alongside of someone with words of encouragement, comfort, consolation, and counsel to help them be all God wants them to be.

Ruler/Leader: One who stands before the people with such care and diligence so as to motivate others to get involved in the accomplishment of one’s goals.

Giving: To share what resources you may have been given by God (time or money) with liberality and cheerfulness without thoughts of return from those who receive one’s gifts.

Mercy: To be sensitive toward those who are suffering, whether physically, mentally, or emotionally, so as to feel genuine sympathy with their misery.
